Personally I haven’t tried this, but I’ve heard some really bad things about this one.

The bad thing about these kinds of diets is that your body doesn’t get enough nutrients to make sure that it runs smoothly and efficiently.

I know that this sounds like loads of BS, but apart from water you also need proteins to make sure that you don’t lose your lean muscle mass, you need fats to make sure that your cell and hormonal production runs smoothly and you need complex carbohydrates to make sure that you have enough energy.

I know that you’re looking for a specific answer about these liquid diets, but from my experience I would recommend to literally focus on the reduction of both caloric and simple carbohydrate intake.

One move step at a time, don’t look for shortcuts, do your cardio and baby – you’ll get the body you want :)

Q&A: Starting a vegan liquid diet for weight loss, any tips or suggestions?

Question by : Starting a vegan liquid diet for weight loss, any tips or suggestions?
I’ve been vegan for a couple years, im 5’1 and 100 lbs. I’d like to loose 5 lbs. I plan to liquid fast for 1-2 weeks. Ive been drinking miso soup, juicing fruits and vegetables, etc. I also plan to buy some super fruit& veggie green powder for drinks. Any ideas on how I can get protein through low calorie liquids other than miso soup?

don’t.

a liquid diet is too low in calories. in fact, it’s deficient in pretty much every kind of nutrient except for carbohydrates, and the juicing helps separate carbs from fiber, fat and other nutrients which ordinarily would slow digestion.

carbs hit your system and spike your insulin. insulin stimulates lipoprotein lipase, which shoves all the sugar you just ate into your fat cells. you will certainly lose weight, but it will all be in your muscles. your metabolism will tank and you’ll feel crappy all the time. when you return to a normal, sane diet, you will regain all the weight you lost as fat, and then some.

seriously, this is a horrible idea and there is no reason to do it.
